Collaborating for a Smarter Future in Vascular Surgery

An Innovative Gathering for Vascular Surgery in Indonesia

From October 16–18, 2025, the Indonesian Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons (PESBEVI) hosted its 15th national conference, The 15th Indonesian Vascular Conference (INAVASC XV). This event took place at the Westin Grand Ballroom, Surabaya, with the theme “Educate, Innovate, Collaborate: The Future of Vascular Surgery.”

wund+™ by GWS Wellness proudly participated as a key supporter, contributing to symposium sessions, international workshops, and exhibitions.

Participants included vascular surgeons, general surgeons, GPs, and nurses involved in vascular care. Over three impactful days, attendees exchanged knowledge about the evolving landscape of vascular surgery.

Kickstarting with Wound Care Innovation

Pre-Conference Workshop: Safer Wound Management Starts Here

The event kicked off before the official opening. On October 16, a dedicated wound care workshop was held for vascular and general surgeons, as well as medical doctors.

This workshop focused on managing complex wounds, particularly diabetic foot ulcers, which are a major challenge in vascular practice. PESBEVI’s surgical experts led the session, sharing insights into wound types, treatment complexities, and practical solutions.

A key innovation introduced was the wund+™ Wound Spray, which contains hypochlorous acid (HOCl). This gentle yet effective compound cleans wounds, prevents infection, and speeds up healing—all without stinging or irritating the skin. Its use in Indonesia is still relatively new, making it a highlight of the session.

Symposium Highlights: Exploring HOCl in Vascular Practice

On 17 October 2025, INAVASC XV was officially opened by PESBEVI’s Chair. Parallel symposium sessions and workshops kicked off immediately after.

The scientific symposium spotlighted many advancements in the field, with special attention on wund+™’s hypochlorous acid technology. Two key speakers, Dr. dr. R. Suhartono, Sp.B, Subsp.BVE(K) and dr. Anne Saputra, M.Biomed, Sp.B.SubBVE(K), led deep-dive sessions on wound healing strategies using HOCl.

Dr. Suhartono gave a talk titled Strategic Management of Open Wounds in Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). He highlighted why adopting innovative, evidence-based methods is crucial in vascular wound care.

Meanwhile, dr. Anne’s session, The Use of HOCl in Clinical Wound Management, elaborated on the compound’s antibacterial properties. Her conclusion was clear: HOCl works fast, is safe for patients, and significantly improves healing outcomes in complex cases.

Hands-On Training: Real-Time Wound Care Practice

Alongside the symposium, an interactive wound care workshop ran in another room. Open to more general participants, particularly nurses and general surgeons, the session was designed to offer hands-on learning.

Participants explored various wound types and safe treatment options. Several wound care tools and innovations were introduced, including the wund+™ Wound Spray.

The workshop, led by experienced clinicians from a prominent Jakarta hospital, was divided into four learning stations. One station in particular drew attention: a simulated diabetic foot wound scenario where attendees practised applying the wund+™ Wound Spray.

The demonstration highlighted how non-irritating antimicrobial action from HOCl could clean wounds effectively and comfortably, even for sensitive or chronic skin conditions.

Experience the Excitement: wund+™ at the Exhibition

During the last two days, the wund+™ exhibition booth became a must-visit spot. Featuring its three flagship products—wund+™ Regeneration Cream, Wound Spray, and Scar Gel—the booth offered in-depth product trials, user testimonials, and clinical insights.

The response was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees saw the potential of these innovations in improving patient-centred wound care, especially in clinical practice.

Adding to the buzz was an interactive game challenge. Participants were asked to hit a timer exactly at 12 seconds—symbolising the 12-second germ-killing power of HOCl in wund+™ Wound Spray.

A Healthier Future in Vascular Surgery

INAVASC XV was more than just a conference, it was a milestone for the future of vascular surgery in Indonesia. It brought together innovation, collaboration, and real solutions for improving healthcare outcomes.

wund+™ by GWS Wellness is honoured to have contributed to the journey and remains committed to delivering evidence-based, skin-friendly innovations in wound care.

Here’s to the next breakthrough—see you at the next event!
